Migrant Project Musicians have a recording session at Phoenix Farm

November 18th, 2008 § 0

‘Phoenix Farm’ is a 300 acre property in Caparra – an hour or so from Taree, following a long and curvy dirt road. It is owned by the lovely Ian and Jessica, who live there with 8 chihuahuas, 2 horses, a kelpie called Bunya, prize winning chickens and herd of cattle that seemed rather suspicious of us.

From 2005 – 2007, The Migrant Project was a series of live performances and forums. In 2008 it has been in its final stage of development as a feature film and interactive CD/DVD.

It was great to unpack the soundscapes developed for the shows and turn them into some beautiful musical pieces. With a number of tracks now down, it’s up to Mick and Shakthi to slowly mix them into short compositions that can be used in the film and DVD – coming out January 2009!
